The Washington Post recently wrote again about Obama inheriting a huge deficit from Bush. So once more, a short civics lesson. Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party..They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011.In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases. For FY 2009, though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets. And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009.Let&s remember what the deficits looked like during that period:If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th. P.S. many analysts fail to note that the deficits between the 2001 and 2005 largely resulted from the huge economic blows struck by Osama bin Laden on 9/11 virtually stopping travel and vacation spending for many months. Many security and military expenses came about thereafter along with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Mr. Obama has supported the war in Afghanistan and very recently VP Biden has taken credit for the tremendous political improvement in Iraq.

How do liberals feel about the fact that the Democrats actually caused the massive deficit and not Bush?

Found a job near Bristol and would like to rent a house/ flat near WORCESTER (due to lots of traveling to manchester). I am looking for a nice and safe place to live close to a train station. Can be either 1 or 2 bedroom house or flat. My budget is about 500 - 800 per month. Please note my girl friend will spend most of the time at home so our main concern is safety. Looking forward to some decent advises and constructive ideas. Cheers.

PLEASE HELP! Where to live in Worcester UK? Somewhere nice and safe please.?
I would like to live comfortably, being able to go out for drinks, nice meals and participate in outdoor activities like diving and sailing. A house will be provided, so I don&t have to worry about rent. I am wondering if the monthly stipend is enough to cover my food and fun costs. Anyone living there have ideas for a monthly budget? I am a 25/F, and do not live a luxurious lifestyle, I am an experienced backpacker and know how to travel on a budget, and enjoy being part of the local culture. I don&t plan on hanging out in any resort tourist areas. I know everything is imported and higher priced, but I want more specifics. Thanks

Considering a temporary job in Eleuthera, Bahamas. My housing is covered, how much is needed a month to live?
We&re three girls wanting to go out tonight after a concert. We&re new to the area so have no idea where to go. We&re on a budget as we&re travelling but just looking for somewhere fun. Any suggestions?

Good, cheap, gay bar in San Fran near Warfield?
I am a 23 year old man. My name&s Brad. I just got out of college studying molecular Biology and am I working (in comparison) a mind-nummingly boring job, trying to pay off loans and save some money for traveling. I haven&t done a lot of traveling and to be truthful, I&m slightly intimidated and scared about it. But at the same time, I&m so incredibly restless that it sort of bypasses any fears and inhibitions I have about traveling. So, the countries that I am really interested in traveling are as follows ( asterisk ** denotes countries that are a high priority for me) :IrelandFranceSpainNetherlandsSwitzerlandItaly ***Greece ***I live in NH in the states, so I was figuring as far as reducing costs of plane tickets, I&ll need to find a cost-effective route and order in which to visit each country. I was thinking of working my way in an &arc& around europe. But, in your opinion, what would be the best order in which to see these countries? Also, I&m on a budget, about $5,000 so maybe for some of these countries, I&ll really only be passing through or spending a day on. I&m in the very early stages of planning. Thanks, Brad
